ENTRY FEES
$185.00 – Championship
$65.00 – Qualifying
Players who are successful in qualifying for the championship will be charged an additional entry fee ($185).
ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has not reached his 19th birthday as of the date of the final round of the championship proper, who has not started college, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a current GHIN® Number at a CGA member club with an index that does not exceed 15.0. Entries are subject to rejection at any time, including during the event, by the CGA or the host club. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct or unauthorized cell phone use during a stipulated round. All players must conform to the “USGA Rules of Amateur Status” as specified in “The Rules of Golf”. For complete residency and eligibility requirements, refer to the CGA Tournament Manual at the CGA website, (www.carolinasgolf.org).
ENTRIES AND ONLINE REGISTRATION
All players, including those exempt, must register online at www.carolinasgolf.org.
Exempt Players: Accepted into the championship proper at time of entry.
Non-exempt Players: Gain entry into the championship proper through sectional qualifying (see “Exemptions from Sectional Qualifying” and “Sectional Qualifying and Alternates” sections).
The CGA is not responsible for errors or delays by any internet service provider. Entries are only accepted between the open and close dates as stated above. Confirmation of acceptance is sent to players when their status is determined. Status may be checked at www.carolinasgolf.org. The appropriate entry fee must be paid by each player at time of registration.
LATE REGISTRATION
After the close of entries, a player may contact the CGA at tournaments@carolinasgolf.org or contact the official in charge to request a late entry. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the CGA and only if a spot is available in the field. Accepted late entries will be charged a $30 late fee in addition to the entry fee of the tournament. The late fee is non-refundable, regardless of participation in the tournament.
REFUND POLICY
Entry fee refund policy schedule:
- Open Date to THREE Days Prior to Championship or Qualifying Date: Full refund minus $30.00 administrative fee regardless of reason if entry accepted into championship or sectional qualifier.
- Withdrawals submitted less than three days before the Championship or Qualifying Date: No refund for any reason.
- No-Shows: No refund for any reason.
AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION; CADDIES; SPECTATORS
Transportation: Players must walk at all times.
Caddies: Caddies are NOT allowed.
Spectators: Spectators are welcome at CGA championships. Spectator cart availability and cost is at the host clubs’ discretion. If allowed, spectator carts must remain on the cart path and out of the way of play.
RULES
USGA Rules of Golf govern play. Questions will be decided by the on-site Rules Committee whose decision will be final. Notice to Players and local rules are posted at host club and distributed at the starting tee(s). The CGA reserves the right to alter the conditions or schedules as stated, including alteration of the stipulated round(s) at any time during the championship. The competition is closed when the championship trophy has been presented. Special requests for starting times or pairings are not granted.
FORMAT
The championship format is 54-holes of stroke play. The field will be reduced to the low 60 and ties after 36 holes.
YARDAGE
All competitors will compete from approximately 7,000 yards.
DIVISIONS
All competitors will compete in one division. There are no age divisions.
PRIZES & TIES
Trophies are awarded to the champion and the top five players. A tie for the overall championship is decided by an on-course playoff. All other ties will be broken by scorecard playoff.
EXEMPTIONS
Players in the following categories are exempt into the championship.
Exemptions:
- Players who made cut in 2025 CGA NC Junior Boys’ Championship
- Top 16 from the 2025 CGA Dogwood Junior Boys’ Championship
- Top 15 from the 2025 CGA Carolinas Junior Boys’ Championship
- Top 10 from the 2025 TYGA Tournament of Champions
- Top 5 from the 2025 TYGA Bill Harvey Junior
- Top 5 from the 2025 NC Boys’ 14 & Under
- Top 3 from the 2025 Webb Simpson Challenge
- Champion from the 2026 TYGA N.C. Middle School Championship
- Top 10 from the 2026 HV3 Invitational
- Top 15 overall boys from the 2026 TYGA Bojangles Junior
- Top 3 overall boys from any TYGA Multi-Day event played between June 18, 2025 – June 2, 2026.
- Top 75 on the TYGA NC Junior Boys’ rankings as of May 5, 2026
Overall results (not age divisions) are used to determine the exemptions from individual tournaments. Being invited does not guarantee acceptance. All exempt players must register by the closing date.
SECTIONAL QUALIFYING
The final qualifying numbers will be determined after entries have closed.

The overall champion will be invited to represent the CGA in the Virginias-Carolinas Junior Team Matches at Benvenue CC on August 7-9, 2026.
