The Carolinas Women's Four-Ball Championship, which began in 1978, is the oldest women's CGA championship. The championship is conducted at 36 holes of four-ball stroke play with a Championship division and a Senior division (which is comprised of players that have reached their 50th birthday by the first day of competition). This competition includes gross scores only. Teams are pre-flighted within their division based on the low Handicap Index® of the partners. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who maintains a residence in North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index®.
